Lead your own Solarize campaign
You want to play a part in assisting your community, group, or organization in adopting clean energy? This is how you do it.
Get Started :
You can lead your own community solar/Solarize campaign, and it’s much simpler than you might think. We will outline all that you will need to know here.
Get organized. Have an idea of how many people are in your group and how many you think will be interested in installing a system.
Find an installer. Have conversations with multiple installers to ensure fair pricing, knowledgeable representatives, timely work, a variety of financing options, and a professional installation history.
Gather info of interested members. This typically includes their full contact details, at least one electric bill, and any other pertinent info. Where they want the panels installed, age of roof, plans to remove trees in case of shading, etc.
Receive and review quotes. Your chosen installer will prepare and go over details of each quote with each of your members.
Schedule site visits. The installer will physically visit each member to verify roof measurements and age, look at electrical systems, and understand equipment placements and wire + conduit runs.
Handle finance applications and sign contracts. There are many finance and leasing options available to nearly every type of person. Credit requirments typically are at least a 620 credit score but other options may be available if needed.
Installation, handover, and monitoring. Once the system is installed it is very important for the homeowner to understand how to monitor their system to ensure it is working properly. Thanks to recent advancements in monitoring software, this can now easily be done via an app on their phone. Showing how much power the system is producing, how much the home is using, how much is in the battery, etc.
